Don't have much time? Go here anyway. Head straight for the tower for a breathtaking birds-eye view of Santa Barbara. Have more time? Explore the courtrooms and halls - the architecture is gorgeous. This is a fully functioning courthouse (Santa Barbara Supreme Court, Hall of Records), but you'd never guess from the splendor and scale. The grounds are no less beautiful. When you're done, you can join the tourists on State Street and visit the boutiques, shops and restaurants. But you'll have seen something most of the other tourists have not. Shhh, it's free, with public parking across the street.
