I learned about this service a few years ago and am a huge fan. Open every day of the week, Monday through Sunday. Essentially you can use Access Health (formerly named QuickHealth) as a full-service drop in medical clinic. When you are in need THAT day and it doesn't warrant a visit to the emergency room, or you cannot get in to your primary doc, this is a great alternative. You pay cash. If you have insurance, you cannot use it nor get reimbursed. I have used this service ($59) for a drop-in doctor's visit for either my kids or myself, suspected ear infections (yup, that was confirmed, then got a prescription for medication), fevers, blood tests, cuts. There is a full-service a la carte menu and wait times are small or none. The doctors are top-notch, often with 15 to 20+ years of experience! Ask for John Murphy, MD at the San Mateo location. He is very knowledgeable and soothing.
