Place des Vosges is a beautiful 17th century square in one of the older parts of Paris, the Marais. Read the wikipedia article to learn about its history. Architecturally interesting and beautiful, and a great place to start an exploration of the Marais, and all of the tiny alleys that make up this very charming part of Paris. The Marais is a "must visit" if you've never spent time in Paris and want to see something beyond the more famous landmarks.
