Back in the El Nino days, we had terrible flooding! We live in South Palo Alto, and the house is on a concrete slab. So the water came into the house. A.C.&H. put in French drains and a sump pit with a pump.
It all still works beautifully today and I've basically forgotten that it's all there. But when many neighbors have had flooding, we've remained dry.
