The terrain on Tioga Pass in the summer is dry. Tuolomne Meadows is a sea of brown grass... Then you come upon Tenaya Lake, a beautiful patch of blue and green, looking like an Alpine lake! (But much more dramatic!)

Don't drive too fast, or you'll miss the vista point! Worth stopping for.
