We bought a groupon...and glad we did. Horseback trail riding, on very good horses in Half Moon Bay. Not the beach horses. We have ridden at a ranch for years, but this time we learned to brush, prep and saddle them, then went up a trail, just the 2 of us and our guide, through their property that has spectacular views from Montara mountain. Ours was a late afternoon ride, with the fog in, but that didn't matter at all, it was so much more than I expected and we still had views of the airport and ocean.
Moss Beach Ranch boards horses and has a very active Summer Horse Camp that kids from San Francisco and the Peninsula flock to learn to ride. Their are also private lessons throughout the year.
