Friends told us about the fantastic summer camp they have here. And we've been going every summer since. The camp is fairly unique, in that it meets right on the beach. The buildings are literally next to the sand.
The kids learn about marine life, ecology, the bay and the ocean. Science is so fun here. The kids go out on the boat and gather fish, test the water and get a turn at being captain! There is a tidepool day. Older kids spend the night on the boat and go kayaking. (Such a nice intro to kayaking that even my cautious son loved it.)
All 3 of my kids have said, at some point, that they want to be marine biologists.
They also run fantastic school programs and family days during the year. Our elementary school and high school now have yearly field trips there. And we went to a super-fun Earth Day family day a couple of years ago.
