Our 3 children graduated from here. Although we live in Palo Alto, which supposedly has great schools, we felt that the stress and homework load was placing most of the educational burden on the children and the parents. This school has superior academics with less than half the homework. The location in San Jose means that tuition is about 60% of what you'd pay for private school in the Palo Alto area. And this school is far better than anything we found from San Mateo to Gilroy.
The curriculum does an excellent job on the basics - grammar, math concepts and problem-solving, science concepts and labs, history with chronological understanding (seems to be lacking in many schools), geography, French, and STEM (during the school day!) The extras are fantastic - Music multiple times a week (chorus, music history & theory, recorders & xylophones - everyone learns how to read notes!), Art, robotics, and daily P.E.
After school, there's Chess Club, Model U.N., Robotics Club, Latin Club, Drama Club, probably more by now...
Small school, so they really know your child.
